[TRADERS] How many gifts can you buy / day, hour, week till you get blocked ? - Page 1

Unfortunately steam is complete black box in this regard. One thing i can confirm that it is possible for IP address to become blacklisted and it throws "Unexpected error" no matter what (i had situation when my work ip was able to buy gifts, but home ip - not - when same account was used). So you can try change it if your provider hands out random IPs. As for daily limits - there is definately something added, but i cant give any data because after new steam trading rules (i dont like idea of gift trading, so i just stack and wait 30 days) i buy quite "casual" amounts per day and dont get limited.

There's a possibility you got a 10 purchase/week lock.

As mentioned above, try to change ip, and wait. Don't try purchasing too many times tho as it might extends your lock period.

At least in my case my home IP was blocked just because i bought too much gifts - i never gifted them away or anything - just stacked few dozens. IIRC i made few purchases with 5-6 games (incl some expensive ones like valve-pack) in each, multiple times.

I think steam blocking accounts that gift many games, was long ago and I know cases of blocks for gift x number of games .. many bots are gifting here, time will tell

Based on my own experience - might not solely but - these temporary blocks are based on buying x amount of games, not on gifting them.
I recognized if I use an account in the night, dawn hours to buy 4-5-6 rounds of games it tended to get a lock the next evening on autumn sale.

I can gift 50+ games without being blocked.
The problem is with buying and after 2 days still exists.
