Everytime I clicked 'deposit items' the 'please wait a few seconds' popped out, and in fact after a few hours the page did not load.

Are you friend with the bot? If the bot fails to add you as friend. Open their profile and add it, then press 'continue'. If not, make sure you are connected to steam properly (try to trade with other people for example).
