Does anybody have a clue what's currently happening in the dota scene?

As far as I see, in the last weeks the dota2 keys went down by ~20 cents under the tf2 ones on the steam market, and now there were two HUGE drops in its price in the past few days ending up at 1.75 dollars.

Is it might caused by fraudently card using, or other reason? If this is the case, it might would make some sense why revoked gifts are everywhere nowadays.

/edit: I heard there's a new event in the game, that would might explain the case aswell, but still... it's a huge drop in price

Valve has released the 2014 The International Compendium ...

you may have heard about the annual international dota 2 tournament ... it is the biggest one and is hosted by valve themselves..

the compendium adds 25% of the sale amount to the total prize pool , it also comes with rewards for players when they have reached a certain amount sales

people have been pumping their keys on the market to buy the compendium which costs $10... i'd hold on to my keys for now or buy the cheap keys on the market , i doubt they would go down further

I dont think same as LMA, I saw on d2 forum guys who were selling dota 2 keys for 1.35$ PP/WMZ, so I guess that they got keys from frauded cards / hijacked accounts. Now traders who bought those keys wanted to use them with high profit, but due the tons of keys, their price dropped as hell, I suggest to avoid d2 keys until the situation stabilize...

I think it's because the International Compendium
Yeah, that thing sell quite fast in here
Almost like everyone have it

In people here in SEA prefer dota 2 rather than TF2, so I can see the Dota 2 prices quite clearly

I doubt it's a fraud key, It could be, but I can buy dota 2 key for like $1.4-$1.5 (with my country's currency) from almost every dota 2 key seller here in SEA, where they got it from? Of course Dota 2 lounge.
And they where they got those cheap keys from? People who won a lot of keys from D2L bets.

There's also the fact that Valve hasn't released any new chest that require Treasure Keys for months. If there's no demand for Treasure Keys the price will go down.
