There is no practical solution to make everyone happy. Please try to understand. I do not want to hear anymore about why gifts are deleted or why bots are trade banned. It is not funny and I do not want to care. If you want to trade Steam gifts, donate to VIP so you get a bot and be responsible for your own trading. Steam gifts are being too much of a risk here.
5$ / 10$ tiers are fine. But I payed 25$ , at-least give each premium user their own bot without any personalization /and any other features which the VIP enjoys. I don't need 300+ inventory space, there is no point for me to pay 25$ more.
I think it would be most fair to keep it as is. Giving them to all donators would be unfair to those who now got VIP bots, while giving them solely to premium users would be both unfair to those with lower tiers and VIP's. It looks like you are only observing it from your perspective. Leaving it as if would mean that those with VIP bots are not a disadvantage, while other tiers remain able to pay solely the difference for that tiers privileges.
I think it is you who do not want the extra competition by premium users. We still don't get get 300+ inventory space, the ability to change your bots name and many more features which the VIP enjoys.
Imagine they release a new rule where you need to pay 100$ for a personal bot, and 50$ one's can't sell gifts. How will you feel?
That's exactly what I'm feeling know. I do not have enough turn over of game to make spending another 25$ profitable, but I still donated 25$ because it made my life easier.. not because I needed the 150 space too. I barely ever cross 20-50 items. And I only sell 5-6 different games.
The point is I donated because I liked the service, and that service has been taken away from me. I'm not even asking for a full refund, infact I do not want a refund because I'm still happy with the donation. But yes they can surely charge us an extra 5$ fee to set up a peronsal-steam-account NOT A PERSONALIZED Account which the VIP still has the benefits along with many other including a lot of inventory space.
The new rule wasn't applied to aggravate premium users, but was the logical outcome from Steam's poor decision to ban accounts. As VIP already had personal bots, this is less of an issue as a banned bot only excludes that certain user who got it banned in the first place. Since other tiers don't have personal bots, it's only logical to stop them trading steam gifts. Who should refund the people who shared the same bot and possible have hundreds or thousands of $ worth of value on their bot?
As for your more personal question; If I didn't have a personal bot I would understand the implications and pay the difference for the top tier. I donated $50 to this site approximately a year ago, trading very few items myself back then. I didn't buy in because I wanted to make a profit (and didn't expect it either when I did as the site was still quite a bit smaller back then), but for the novelty as this way of trading was new and exciting. I only later started to trade more and more items through this site opposed to trading manually myself.
Your suggestion to make it +$5 seems unfair though. Why did VIP's have to pay more in the past for their personal bots. If you can't afford it; that's really too bad, but it's the same for people who can't afford $25, $10 or even $5. Your suggestion seems to be tailored for your needs without too much attention to the other tiers, although I understand your frustration with these new rules enforced. I think it's best to wait and see if Valve can be approached in any way or think of a better solution.
